Yoga + Organic Nutrition =

If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have the safest way to health.

About me

Sarah Mayne

I, like most, LOVE food. My nutrition journey began with when my son was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder at 2½. I wanted to do everything I could to help him so I set off on a journey.

I saw the positive impact dietary changes had on his health, wellbeing and ultimately his quality of life.  This sparked a passion for nutrition and led to studying for a degree in Nutritional Therapy.

Various diets I had tried over the years only had limited success; I would lose a little weight but would quickly become bored with calorie counting and restrictions, then the weight would pile back on - sound familiar?  There's a reason they call it yo-yo dieting.  Understanding the longer term health benefits of healthy eating meant I no longer had to follow a 'diet'.

"I can’t have that" became "I don’t want that"

I felt better mentally, physically and emotionally by eating well and finding a form of exercise I really enjoyed - yoga.

When I started yoga 10+ years ago I found most classes intimidating; large unappealing drafty halls with cliquey groups of women, or studios full of slim, bendy yogi’s far more competent than me. Finding the right type of yoga, and the right teacher really helped - the more I did it the better I felt.  Regular practice allowed me to develop in my own way and reap the benefits.  I hope I can help you do the same.

I successfully completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance approved teacher training course and have been offering small, accessible, inclusive yet dynamic yoga classes for like-minded individuals for over 5 years.

About me

My qualifications

Organic Vegetables

I have a number of years of experience having obtained a first class honours degree in Nutritional Therapy from CNELM / Middlesex University in 2011.

I then completed an internship with the renowned environmental medicine clinic, Breakspear Medical, a specialist facility treating a number of allergy and environmental illnesses such as ME, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.

Following my internship, I worked for a Doctor practising in Harley Street and West London as part of an environmental medicine clinic. Helping patients with autistic spectrum disorders presenting with immune and gut health issues was a thoroughly rewarding experience.

Within my own practice I have supported a number of clients presenting with a variety of issues; weight management, fatigue, type II diabetes, eczema, osteoporosis and atrial fibrillation.

Nutritional Therapy is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.

I am a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT), CNHC and Yoga Alliance and hold all the relevant insurances to practice Nutritional Therapy and Yoga.

Nutritional Therapy Consultations

The first consultation will provide an opportunity for you to share your unique general health, family history, dietary habits and lifestyle.  We will work together to establish your goals and create a tailored nutrition and lifestyle plan to suit your needs, correcting and addressing any imbalances identified.  4-6 weeks later we will meet again to review your progress and monitor your success, making adaptations to your nutrition plan.  Our first meeting will be in person, however follow-up consultations can be conducted by webinar if preferred (requested at time of booking).

Functional tests may help identify specific nutritional deficiencies or impairments that may be limiting progress therefore may be requested on occasion.  Supplements may be recommended to provide additional support.

Yoga

Bored of the gym and looking for a different form of exercise to get fit?  Or something that will complement your running or training regime?  My classes offer a dynamic, energetic form of yoga (with or without the heat) to help build strength, improve fitness and increase flexibility, and all abilities are welcome. I also offer Chair/Seated Yoga sessions, ideal for those with a little less mobility or flexibility, but again all abilities are welcome.

Yoga is not about how it looks, but how it feels.  Can't reach your toes or straighten your legs in Downward Dog?  Please don't let that put you off.

I offer both in-person and online classes:

In-Person Classes – Monday evenings, 8-9pm at The Bisley Yurt. If you are interested in attending, please contact me to join the Yoganic WhatsApp Group in order to receive notifications on available spaces/bookings

Monthly Plan – online program offering a combination of live sessions on Wednesdays 06:30-07:15 & recordings, providing a dynamic and energetic style of yoga and being part of a group, but in the comfort of your own space

Chair/Seated Yoga – weekly recordings available (and in-person sessions offered at various locations by request)

To book, please visit the bookings page to select the service you would like to book onto, or contact me directly and I will provide you with the relevant information.

Private lessons/group sessions are also available on request, please contact me for more information.
